(excerpt page 27r)
I declare that I will the murderer, joined to the yoke, whip with the whip to death, because this soldier for hire make in the East abominable acts.
The event on page 27r happens on 03. April 1267.
With the event in April 1267 we are in Outremer. But Sultan Baybars first appeared in May 1267, with a large troop contingent, in front of Acre and devastated later the surrounding area. The event in April 1267 refers - as far as the text gives practical - to a mercenary in their own ranks who has to be punished because of his non-compliant behaves in the Holy Land.
Of course the Voynich manuscript with its more than 100 different special characters is not written in German, English, Spanish, Czech, Arabic, etc., but in Latin.
Only a language like Latin could be chosen because it already survived centuries and was the language of science in the Middle Ages and it was assumed that this language would be preserved even the next few centuries in their consistency. And Latin offers by the linguistic facets of wealth on the one hand and the word structure on the other hand the base to work without a lot of filler words.
Another puzzle is hidden in the plants. Although the botanical assignment is attempted, they are a calendar.
However, the previous translation work has promoted some ship names. We are so far not able to find any information about them. For example, two shipsAvis (divination bird) andAmor (Love God). Amor is a manufactured ship according to the Greek ship type and was purchased.
Overall I translated 11 names, which so far, despite intensive research, are not listed anywhere. There are some great archives on trading activities in Mediterranean ports from the 13th and 14th Century, but have been mostly not worked or whose records no longer exist. As far as there were records of ships in the Holy Land, such as in Acre, then it is not clear if these records still exist or are simply gone lost.
But how does the key work?
Well, it is a code that has been devised by its inventors in a way that it can withstand any simple and obvious attempt at decoding. The inventors have very well known to the usual approaches to deciphering and prevent this "simple approaches" by an additional mechanism.
It is not simply a classic cryptological key - it would have been solved long ago - it is a key in the key and thus highly complex. In addition, it has a variability, as otherwise the other possibilities such as "underlying pages" and "mirrored pages" would not be translatable.
Since a meaning must first be extracted from a "language cloud", but there is always only one clear solution at the end, this can not be done by a computer. In addition, you never know beforehand how long a sentence is, or what it is. It is as if a two-sided crossword puzzle is solved simultaneously in the head, although this comparison is not entirely correct, since fixed constants for word lengths are given here.
Anyone who believes here, that I simply pass the code is so wrong. And whoever is of the opinion of condemning me, can join the rankings of those who simply do not have the intellectual power, but try to make them important at the expense of narrative cryptography or evaluative statements.
Personally, I am not aware of an inventor who would simply make his brilliant invention available to the public without legal protection or without a patent application
There are so many places in this manuscript, which only prove themselfs simply by their content or the associated temporal dating. And there are not only the names of individuals that can be clearly assigned.
So far, several pages, diagrams, thousands of vocabulary, and not just a few incoherent words have been translated.
